MU bags one more Quality Certificate

Manipal: Manipal University’s quality certification agenda reached one more milestone with Manipal Cure and Care (MCC) getting certified by the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards International (ACHSI).

The ACHSI is an independent organisation dedicated to improving the quality of health care through continual review of performance, assessment and accreditation.

Manipal Cure and Care will now be evaluated continuously by ACHSI. They will conduct surveys in the organisation, review the organisation periodically and carry out two self assessment processes in a cyclic manner.

Speaking at the certification ceremony, Secretary General of the Quality Council of India, Giridhar Gyani said, “ACHSI has been able to carve out standards relevant to Health and Wellness and this has enabled them to provide the first ever certification to a Health and Wellness player.” He also added that ACHSI and MCC have demonstrated that there is a potential need for standardising healthcare providers.

Taking the certification agenda further, Manipal University has applied for the Asia Pacific Quality Award and Manipal Institute of Communication has also got a one year extension of its ISO certification after the Internal Audit done on March 29th.
