Manipal: Hotel Valley View International is the host to an exhibition-cum-sale of the recent works of two artists; Purushotham Adve from Udupi and Jayavanth from Manipal. Their works are on exhibit till April 12 between 10a.m. and 7p.m.

Jayavanth, who is professionally a pharmacist at the Kasturba Medical College, Manipal has handled Nature and various facial nuances in his body of work, whereas Mr. Adve has chosen Sri Krishna and the Dwapara age as his central theme. Mr. Adve is also the recipient of the Junior Fellowship 2006 – 08 from the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, New Delhi.
The exhibition features the artists’ works during the year 2007 – 08. The primary media used are acrylic on canvas, oil on canvas, water colour on paper and mixed media. The pieces are priced between Rs.2,000 and Rs.20,000.

Superintendent of Police for Udupi, IPS Udupi Devajyothi Ray inaugurated the exhibition. Director – Communications, Manipal Media Network Ltd. Vanita G. Pai and Managing Director, Sai Radha Group of Concerns, Udupi Manohar S. Shetty were the chief guests at the inaugural ceremony held on April 5.

Both the artists have over 20 exhibitions all over India to their credit. Their next such exhibition is scheduled to be in Bangalore in May; dates undecided as yet.
