Manipal: With an aim to unleash the energies of the youth residing within this region, the Brahma Kumaris, a well know spiritual value based educational institution set up a meditation centre in Ananth Nagar, Manipal.

The institution was set up in the year 2000 with the motive to benefit the public in general, without any commercial interest. Even today the centre offers courses free of cost. All the courses, including the three to five day foundation course, to the advanced course are all offered free of cost. “Our basic interest is to create a peaceful and happy society for people to live in; anyone who benefits from our course can donate any amount they wish to, but as a principal we do not raise donations.”

A large student and localite crowd still fill the centre. The institution conducts courses, seminars and workshops on foundation course in meditation, leadership, stress free living, education in values and many more topics. The heart of the course leads people to self development and transformation so that one feels enthusiasm and attains happiness in any circumstance.

As a NGO, the institution has general consultative status with United Nations ECOSOC and UNICEF and is also affiliated to the Department of Public Information (DPI).

Apart from the basic course in meditation, the institution also offers courses in various colleges of the Manipal University, and offices in Manipal. Not only has it proven to benefit the society in the spirit of social service but has also enabled people to develop a realistic attitude towards themselves.
