Manipal: The placement fever is back in Manipal as core company TCS is scheduled to come next week for their set of placements. Owing to this, the students are busy preparing themselves for the different kinds of aptitude tests that are held. This week the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) in collaboration with MIT organized a three day fest from 25th – 27th April, to help the students gauge their IQ levels

“We have taken an initiative to form a group and make students more conscious of academics in manipal specially regarding placements because participants have an edge if they know where they stand,” said Sreyanshu Padhy the president of the Manipal chapter of ISTE.

There were 4 major competitions as part of this. The IQ test was held on Friday, which around 30 students attended. Participants had to answer a paper test as part of this. The TCS ‘Mock Test’ was organized on Saturday where the question pattern was more like the company’s own entrance paper. This competition seemed to be more of an attraction to the 2nd and 3rd years. Tech Whiz and Googlewhaz were online competitions which were organized only for the 1st year students. The questions were uploaded in the website (www.iste-manipal.blogspot.com) and students had to send in their entries to the email address given on the site.

The winning names will be declared later and prizes will be given to all the deserving candidates.
