Don't Stop Till You Drop

Manipal: The Kalamanch plays held on the 21st of this month gave complementary couple passes for this Friday’s night party at Enigma. This was a dual entertainment package for the viewers, as there was some theatre delight as well as this party.

‘Don’t stop till you drop’ being the theme of the party, there was some euphoria in Enigma that night. The party began officially at about 7:30 pm. But there were very few people in the early evening. Although the music played and the few people in the discothèque were entertained, some of the people who came to the party punctually left the party after a little while to grab a bite to eat.

The party started warming up by 10 pm like all fashionably late parties. Crowd came in and the lights shone with some vivid colors to add to the groovy ambience. Kimberly Dias, a member of Kalamanch said, ‘We are here to celebrate the success of our plays. This is fun. I am having a good time.’ DJ Kevin played some popular hip-hop numbers like burn it up, umbrella et al. The dance floor saw some good dance moves.

But, the Hindi and Punjabi tracks stole the thunder. With ‘kala chashma’ and ‘soni de nakhre’ playing, the crowd was up beat and the atmosphere was full of fun. There was good mix of some global music, reggae and trance. Vinay Vishwanath who got a free pass for the party along with the Kalamanch plays said, ‘The plays were really good and after that, this party is like an added bonus. The crowd is not too much so it is not suffocating; nevertheless, it is good enough for a decent party.’

The non-dancers sat on the comforting couches, as they lounged enjoying a drink while good music was playing in the background.
